Where co-intelligence and wise democracy came from

 I recently rediscovered a 2017 article I’d forgotten about that not only describes where the Wise Democracy Project came from but articulates really well the underlying mission of my past decades of co-intelligence work. Check it out!  – Tom

Seven years ago Rosa Zubizarreta and I wrote an article “Embodying Wholeness in our Social Process” for SPANDA JOURNAL’s big 2017 issue on “Collective Enlightenment”.  Recently Rosa reminded me of it and, after reading it newly, I was delighted to find how well it told the story of how I evolved into my work on “wise democracy” and the Wise Democracy Pattern Language.  

I’m thinking of adding it into my new book on CO-INTELLIGENCE, probably as an Appendix.  But I don’t want to wait for that to share it.  I want all of you to be able to read it now, if you are interested

As a teaser, here’s a very short excerpt that I think may express what the co-intelligence work has been all about better than anything else I’ve ever written.  You may want to read it twice to let it sink in….

The approach to collective enlightenment that we are looking at here is the capacity of humans to collectively perceive and respond to the complex ecological and social realities we are immersed in and participating in, and to consciously behave in ways that align with those realities and serve the sustainable vibrancy of humanity and the rest of nature.

That’s what it’s all about.  That’s what we’ve been working on – as have many of you – even as everything continues to change around us.  Thank you all so much for who you are and what you do.
